Part Time Office Clerk

Western Maritime Institute – Ladysmith, BC

We are currently seeking an Office Clerk to work out of our Ladysmith campus.

Duties will include:

  • Assist Office Administrator with completing clerical duties such as photocopying, typing, course evaluation summaries, filling system maintenance, certificate creation and other beginning and end of courses procedures, and preparation of materials for on and off site courses.
  • Assist Office Administrator with phone and reception duties.
  • Assist Admissions Advisor with creating and maintaining student files including: online course registration, registration letters, and contract forms.
  • Assist Admissions Advisor and Office Administrator with communicating with prospective and current students as directed.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in providing solid administrative assistance and stellar customer service.

Super organized, pay extra attention to details, have strong written and oral communication skills, and focus on completing tasks on time with a great deal of accuracy.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (especially the use of Microsoft Word and Excel for creating and editing documents) and have excellent typing skills (minimum 50 wpm).

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience in a reception or administrative role is an asset. 1 or 2-year diploma in related field an asset. Knowledge of Transport Canada Marine courses and certificates an asset.

Pay: $15 – $16 an hour for 20 hours a week. Work days open to negotiation
