Marine Engineering Courses
Western Maritime Institute will offer two Transport Canada Engineering courses designed for small vessels.
- Small Vessel Machinery Operator Certificate, which permits the machinery operator to act as chief engineer or watchkeeping engineer on a small motor vessel, with limitations; and
- Watchkeeping Engineer, Motor-driven Fishing Vessel Certificate, which permits the fishing vessel machinery operator to act as engineer in charge of the watch on a motor-driven fishing vessel of not more than 2,000 kW, without voyage limitations.
